‘Giving a Home’ Christmas campaign

No time of the year is easy when you are experiencing homelessness, however Christmas can be particularly lonely, cold and isolating. We are running our Christmas campaign to raise awareness of homelessness and encourage the public, community groups and business community to volunteer, fundraise and donate to our work over the Christmas period.

Christmas is a time for family, for celebrating, for being thankful and for giving. Our aim is that this campaign will make these things a reality for those who they are currently not, and allow those of us who have the capacity to give, in whatever way large or small, to do so.

The idea behind the theme of the campaign is that by giving a gingerbread person a home this Christmas, you are giving a real person a home for good.

How can I get involved?

The campaign runs from 17th November until the 3rd January. Within this time, people are encouraged to:

  • bake gingerbread biscuits to distribute to family and friends for donations;
  • host fundraising days within their places of work and schools to distribute baked gingerbread biscuits and our Christmas tree decorations;
  • host gingerbread giveaway days at their churches to encourage donations;
  • raise awareness of our work on social media using #givingahome.
  • Text GING25 £5 to 70070 to donate
