Project Team Leader (female O.R.*), No 3 Project, Peckham

Salary: £23,000 – £25,000 + London weighting allowance (£2,950) + on call allowance (£720)

Working hours: 37 hours per week. Monday – Friday.

Contract type: Fixed Term until end of March 2019.

An amazing opportunity has arisen for a passionate and highly motivated Project Team Leader at No.3 supported housing project in south east London. You will be responsible for ensuring the holistic support provided to current and ex-service users, staff and volunteers and for oversight of the day to day management of the project – ensuring maximum occupancy, maintaining recording and monitoring systems, monitoring budgets and expenditure, engaging in project reviews and audits, ensuring high quality support provision, providing direct support to service users and promoting opportunities for Service Users to engage in education, training and personal development programmes. You will be the Safeguarding Deputy (adults and children) and Health and Safety representative for the project.

 You will have line management for a team of dedicated staff who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our Service Users. In return you will benefit from a supportive, creative environment and have every opportunity to make the role your own.

Project Worker (female, O.R*), Naomi Project, Gateshead (Part Time 24 hours)

Salary: £18,000 – £19,000 (FTE), plus £650 (FTE) anti-social hours payment

Working hours: 24 hours per week worked over 7 days, includes unsocial hours.

Contract type: Fixed Term until end of December 2018.

Naomi project provides 8 supported beds within a 24 hour staffed house setting and 4 beds within 2 flats as managed tenancies for young women aged 16-30. This post is part of the wider Naomi-Karis team that is co-located at our Naomi residential premises and on a local housing estate.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an individual who is passionate about working with our client group to work as part of a small team helping with all aspects of running the project; motivating and empowering Service Users towards independent living in sustained tenancies within the community, providing basic life-skills advice, information and guidance and supporting individuals to move on and access appropriate additional services. The successful applicant may be required to cover the occasional sleep shift, however this will not be a regular request.

The successful applicant will have a positive outlook and experience of working with young people in a paid or unpaid capacity. An understanding of the benefits systems, safeguarding and domestic violence issues and drug and alcohol misuse are desirable. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to build cooperative working relationships. Qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field is essential.

Project Worker (female, O.R*), Elizabeth House Project, Gateshead 

Salary: £18,000 – £19,000, plus £650 anti-social hours payment

Working hours: 37 hours per week worked over a 3 week rota (which includes evenings weekends and bank holidays).

Contract type: Fixed Term until end of April 2019.

This post is located within the project premises. Elizabeth House provides 9 supported beds within a 24 hour supported accommodation setting for young mothers (or mums to be) aged 16-25 and their pre-school children.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an individual who is passionate about working with our client group to work as part of a small, busy team helping with all aspects of running the project; motivating and empowering Service Users towards independent living in sustained tenancies within the community, providing basic life-skills advice, information and guidance and supporting individuals to move on and access appropriate additional services. Peer Support Worker, SIB Contract, Gateshead 

Salary: £16,000 – £17,000

Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Contract type: Fixed Term until end of March 2020.

About you

The ideal candidate should have experience of supporting people who have experienced multiple complex needs including homelessness.  They will be able to work in a multidisciplinary team as well as under their own initiative to engage and enable change in others. They will have experience of building good relationships with service users through a strong interpersonal approach as well as working to policy and procedure. They should also hold experience of understanding of how to work within professional boundaries, maintaining emotional resilience and a commitment to equality and diversity.

About the job

The role is to work in and around Newcastle and Gateshead to provide and promote peer support to people who are rough sleeping or are entrenched in the homelessness system.  This will require you to work with engagement workers to build strong relationships with clients and to take an asset based approach to support motivation towards setting and achieving goals.

The Oasis Aquila Foyer provides supported accommodation for young people experiencing homelessness between the ages of 16-25. As an accredited Foyer, the project prioritises supporting young people as they transition, through the development of Life and Employability Skills, as well as successful move on into increased independence. In 2013 the Foyer became part of the Croydon Youth Homelessness Pathway; OAH works in partnership with CAYSH to jointly implement a pathway model of support from assessment through to support and independence for young people in Croydon. OAH use a Hub and Dispersed Foyer model to provide support to 47 young people across Stage 2 of the pathway.

This is your chance to help shape and support the strategic direction of an exceptionally dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those whom they serve.  Oasis Aquila Housing (OAH) responds to homelessness and disadvantage providing housing, support and other specialised services. For over 30 years the Oasis movement has been working across England and the world to transform communities so that everyone is included, belongs, and has what they need to fulfil their God-given potential.

The support OAH provides aims to develop life skills that will enable the young people we house to live successful, independent lives. Our projects operate in Gateshead and London, with plans for the expansion of our work across England. Board meetings are normally held at our Central Office in Gateshead, which is easily accessible from central Newcastle.

We are looking to recruit 2-3 Trustees to our small but influential & dynamic Board. Candidates should be passionate about our story, social housing and eradicating homelessness. We are particularly interested in candidates who may have expertise in one or more of the following fields:

  • Legal expertise
  • Theological training
  • Experience in the housing sector
  • Experience in the business sector
