Oasis Aquila Foyer

The Oasis Aquila Foyer is an accredited Foyer based in Croydon, South London, which provides accommodation and training for young people aged 16-25 who have become homeless. The Foyer houses 47 young people in a combination of an 18 bed staffed accommodation, with a further 29 young people supported in dispersed properties in the local community. The Foyer is run in partnership with CAYSH as part of a pathway approach for young people in Croydon.

The Foyer’s vision is to raise young people’s beliefs in their future, draw out their talents and aspirations, engage them in positive activity, and develop lifeskills to live independently, provide a home, a place to belong and network of support to achieve their full potential. The project aims to create a culture of community, so residents are expected to attend events, house meetings and group activities. Each resident at the Foyer receives a tailored programme of support covering basic life skills such as cooking and budgeting as well as the opportunity to gain skills for employment and education. The support aims to help the young people set themselves up for life and move on into independent living.

Referrals to the project can only be made through the Turnaround Centre in Croydon managed by Croydon Council SNAP team. The Turnaround Centre runs a drop in zone so anyone who is looking for support can access the service and they can be contacted on 020 8760 5530.
