Our DASV project provides targeted support for men and women in the Gateshead area who have experienced or are experiencing domestic and/or sexual abuse, in partnership with Tyneside’s Women’s Health. The project is part of a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) across Gateshead which provides a single gateway for all safeguarding, domestic abuse and vulnerable victim referrals to protect and safeguard the most vulnerable within the borough.
Within the MASH, our project works with low- to medium- risk victims in and around Gateshead regardless of sexual orientation, religion, culture or gender. The MASH team offer emotional support, practical support around safety planning and housing, advice about other sources of help, support to attend appointments and structured courses & counselling through Tyneside Women’s Health.
Referrals should be made through the Gateshead MASH, but anyone looking for support can speak to a member of staff in the DASV Service at Central Office on 0191 477 3535.
