Positive parenting and a good family life can help people to escape cycles which they may feel trapped in. The supported accommodation projects Elizabeth House and Karis Project often work with mums who have very young children and can help them to start family life with a good foundation.  Staff are able to draw together different support for the families and help them to gain skills for independent living. Karis Project

The Karis Project provides supported accommodation for young women, aged 16 to 25, who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness and who have a pre-school child/children or who are pregnant. Elizabeth House provides supported accommodation for young women and their pre-school children and young pregnant women aged 16-25, in Gateshead. 24-hour support is provided at the project for families who are at risk.
